TSW Printers Border Classic 2011
Motoring enthusiasts gathered to see a line-up of classic cars including MG's, Austin Healey's, Jaguar's, Rolls Royce's and Triumphs, set off from Brigg Market Place. The route went across Lincolnshire and the Yorkshire Wolds to the finish at Driffield Rugby Club. This gave the owners and their passengers the opportunity to drive their vehicles a distance of 104 miles, following basic route instructions, letting others along the way see their pride and joy.
82 crews took part in the 17th running of this event, with the oldest car a 1946 Morris 8 Series E belonging to Brian Empson, who has been competing on the classic for six years with this car. Del John turned up in his rare 1967 Gilbern Genie, only 197 were ever made, and his was 10th one produced.
Orgainser John Savage said the events popularity was down to a like-minded individuals who didn't just like polishing their cars, but were looking to give them a run and have an enjoyable day out.
